![]() Our Registration has kicked off to a good start. We have opened enrollment to non-GSS families, so if you haven't passed in your paperwork, please do so.

My Thoughts of Wonder
by a Grammar student I close my eyes. I see sky filled with clouds. A thunderbolt hits the ground, Like a Sword. And then a thought pierces me as well. My dreams that I see when I close my eyes, are not my own. They are God's visions that are gifted to me. He knows everything about me. He knows how I cry inside while I put on a smile, for others. He knows how I feel afraid, but act brave to others. He knows all of my thoughts and questions, along with my curiosity. He knows my feelings in my heart, I can not hide them. He knows me. Because he made me. And now shows me life in my dreams. |
2009 Lego Team - The Legonators |
Our 2009 First Lego League team, The Legonators participated in their Qualifying Tournament - Smart Moves on November 21st at UNH. This team has qualified every year in regional competition to go on to States, but this year they did better than ever, winning the Champion's Award.
The Champion's Award is the most prestigious award that a team can win. It celebrates the ultimate success of the FIRST mission and FLL Core Values. A champion is someone who passionately supports a cause. For FLL, our champions passionately inspire and motivate others about the excitement of science and technology, solving problems, working as a team, and demonstrating respect and Gracious Professionalism. Teams considered for the Champion’s Award are those that perform well in all of the major award areas: Design, Performance, Project and Teamwork.
GSS’s team for the State competition in Bedford, NH on December 6th, discovered that this next level indeed required an elevated skill level. As in Regionals, they presented their Project Board, which delineated their concept on how to get handicapped people out of buildings without electrical power. In the Technical Evaluation, they discussed their robot with the judges and answered questions. Then with the clock running, the team needed to program their robot to perform tasks. The Legonators earned the No Limits Trophy, a Judge’s Award, which honors creative thinking and problem solving skills. The Legonators want to give special thanks to their sponsors: Relyco and Seacoast Computer, Inc. They also want to give thanks to their friend Teagan, his mom, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. A special thanks goes out to Mrs. Jackie Beaupre, Mr. and Mrs. Dodge and all their supportive parents!

Amazing Fall Fest!! |
Considering on Thursday we were looking at alternatives to move the Fest inside - thinking it would be too cold if not too wet ... Wow did God bless us with a beautiful day. Thanks to our amazing parents who went above and beyond to make this one of the best Fests yet! You are all blessings! More than a fundraiser, the Fall Fest is a wonderful way to build our GSS community as we work and play together and serve the greater Barrington community. I think Christ was honored by our efforts.
We were able to raise over $7500! Again, great job everyone. |
